We are an independent consumer information organisation, and we write our
guidance so that it can be shared. Whether you are helping an older relative
query an energy bill, supporting a neighbour with a faulty purchase, or
working in a community setting where money is tight, you should be able to
find a clear answer and pass it on. Plain, practical information – free
to read and free to share – is one of the most useful things a community
can have.
Support close to home
A great deal of help is delivered locally – through councils, advice
services and community organisations – and it can be hard to know what
exists where you live. We point you towards that support and explain how the
national and local pieces fit together, so you can find what is available in
