The Energy Ombudsman is a free, independent service that resolves unresolved complaints between consumers and energy companies.

How to make a complaint

  1. 1
    Complain to your supplier first

    You must complain to your energy company and give them up to 8 weeks to resolve it.

  2. 2
    Get a final response or wait 8 weeks

    If you receive a final response you’re unhappy with, or 8 weeks pass, you can come to the Ombudsman.

  3. 3
    Refer your complaint

    The Energy Ombudsman will investigate independently and can require the company to put things right.
