Fuse Energy Customers and Home Batteries

Fuse is one of the UK’s fastest-growing suppliers. It doesn’t sell batteries today, but its tariffs and app are built with battery and solar owners in mind.

Fuse Energy and home battery storage

Checked 30 September 2026. Tariffs and products change — check with Fuse Energy before deciding.

Fuse Energy supplies domestic electricity with an app-first approach. When we checked, its store didn’t sell batteries or solar panels, though its app offers solar and battery monitoring and export earnings. Press reports have said Fuse is developing its own solar-and-battery hardware, but there was no launch date, price or specification on Fuse’s website.

Fuse tariffs that matter for batteries

Checked 30 September 2026. Tariffs and products change — check with Fuse Energy before deciding.

  • Multi-rate tariff — Fuse lets you customise your peak and off-peak periods, which is the kind of pricing a battery can use to charge cheaply. It needs a smart meter.
  • Export — Fuse’s variable export rate is open to export-only customers too, and applies to solar “with or without a home battery”. It needs an MCS certificate and an export-capable meter.
  • Rewards for shifting use — Fuse rewards customers for shifting usage to help balance the grid; rewards for smart-home devices were marked “coming soon”.

If you want a battery as a Fuse customer

Checked 30 September 2026. Tariffs and products change — check with Fuse Energy before deciding.

Because Fuse doesn’t sell batteries, a Fuse customer who wants one currently has two broad routes:

  • Buy from an installer — any MCS-certified installer can fit a battery, and Fuse’s export rate applies to solar systems with or without a battery. You’d own the battery and be responsible for it.
  • Apply for the Free Home Battery Scheme — the battery is supplied and installed at no cost to eligible households, and the scheme owner keeps ownership and responsibility for it. See who owns and maintains the battery.

Fuse’s customisable multi-rate tariff is the piece most relevant to a battery either way, because a battery gains most when there’s a clear gap between cheaper and more expensive periods. If you’re new to this, start with how a home battery works.

A supplier to watch

Checked 30 September 2026. Tariffs and products change — check with Fuse Energy before deciding.

Fuse has grown faster than any other recent UK supplier, from around 50,000 homes in mid-2025 to over 300,000 by mid-2026 according to press reports, and Ofgem has highlighted it as the first new domestic entrant since 2023 to grow rapidly. Press reports also say it’s working on its own solar-and-battery hardware. If Fuse launches a battery product or battery tariff, we’ll update this page rather than creating a new one.

Fuse Energy and home batteries: FAQs

Does Fuse Energy sell home batteries?

Not when we checked. Its store listed an EV charger but no batteries or solar. Reports of a Fuse battery product are unconfirmed.

Is the Free Home Battery Scheme a Fuse Energy scheme?

No. It isn’t Fuse’s rumoured battery product, and Fuse doesn’t operate, fund or endorse it.

Can Fuse customers apply for the Free Home Battery Scheme?

Yes. Being a newer, app-based supplier makes no difference to applying. Tell us you’re with Fuse in your application.

Can I export battery electricity with Fuse?

Fuse says its export rate applies to solar systems with or without a home battery. You need an MCS certificate and an export-capable meter.
