Citizens Advice is an independent charity that gives free, confidential and
impartial advice to help people resolve their problems — covering debt and
money, benefits, housing, employment, immigration, and consumer issues.

What it helps with

You can get help in person at a local Citizens Advice, by phone, or through
its detailed website. It also runs the national
consumer helpline for problems with goods, services and
traders, and the Help to Claim service for people making a
new Universal Credit claim. Advisers can help you understand your rights,
write letters, and deal with organisations on your behalf.

When to turn to it

Citizens Advice is a good first stop for almost any consumer, money or housing
problem — especially if you’re not sure where to start or who’s responsible.
It’s free, and it will never charge you.
