We are helping these residents access the funding they are eligible for through the Great British Installation Scheme and ECO4 (backed by LA Flex).
So how and why do we do this?
To assist the UK in reaching its Net Zero emissions goal, the government has launched ECO4 and other comparable subsidies. We at Consumer Rights are committed to helping this endeavour.
Although it is in band D, Chelmsford’s average home Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating is approximately 65.8, which is marginally higher than the national average for England and Wales. Like the rest of England, Chelmsford requires private rental houses to have an energy efficiency rating of at least band E on the EPC Register. Without a legitimate exemption, which needs to be listed on the PRS Exemptions Register, properties with ratings of F or G are not permitted to be rented out legally. With plans to raise the minimum EPC rating for rental homes to C by 2030, Chelmsford is actively working to improve energy efficiency.
