With both ECO4 (supported by LA Flex and The Great British Insulation Scheme available to eligible households, we are committed to ensuring that Aberdeen residents access the funding they are entitled to.
Why and How We Do This?
The UK Government has introduced ECO4 and other energy efficiency grants to help achieve its Net Zero Emissions target. At Consumer Rights CIC, we are dedicated to playing our part in this effort.
Aberdeen’s Housing Landscape
Aberdeen has a diverse housing stock, including historic granite buildings and modern developments. However, many homes in the area were built before modern energy efficiency standards and require improvements to meet today’s requirements.
EPC Ratings in Aberdeen:
- C and above (Good efficiency): A portion of Aberdeen homes already have a C rating, considered energy efficient but still capable of improvement.
- D (Average efficiency): The most common rating. Homes in this category could benefit from insulation or heating upgrades.
- E (Poor efficiency): A significant number of older properties, including pre-1919 granite tenements, have poor insulation and inefficient heating systems.
- F-G (Very poor efficiency): These homes require major upgrades to improve energy efficiency and reduce fuel costs.
Since many Aberdeen properties have a D rating or below, they already meet the first criterion for ECO4 funding eligibility.
Fuel Poverty in Aberdeen
Aberdeen has been affected by rising energy costs, with many residents struggling to keep up with their bills.
- As of 2022, an estimated 31% of Aberdeen households were living in fuel poverty.
- Due to the cost-of-living crisis, this number may now be closer to 40%.

2. Centre Call Contact
After completing the checker, a member of our qualified contact centre team will call you. They will:
- Discuss your property and the upgrades available.
- Walk you through the application process.
- Help gather any required documents.
3. Property Survey and Upgrade Options
- The team will arrange for a survey of your property to assess the upgrades that can be offered.
- If you want to proceed, they will schedule a time to carry out the necessary work.
